What is the theory behind the worksheet?

This worksheet is developed with the premise of the CBT concept and directions from Don Miguel Ruiz’s book, Four Agreements. Such agreements promote proactivity and accountability in people’s lives and the ability to act purposefully.

This is because consistent self-reflection on the actions and thoughts that are based on these principles enables one to practice lasting constructive changes and an enhanced psyche.

CBT also supports the concept of identifying and replacing negative thoughts which is in line to complete this particular worksheet.

How will the worksheet help?

The worksheet is useful because it has a format of a daily reflection design where a person is in a position to be more self-conscious throughout the day.

By tracking how you use your words, whether you take things personally, make assumptions, and do your best, you can identify patterns in your behavior and thoughts.

This self-reflectiveness allows you to note areas that need change or improvement, consolidate positive behaviors, and progressively develop better habits.

Using the worksheet can enhance ways of handling one’s own and others’ emotions favorably, increasing positive and healthy interconnections, and developing equally positive attitudes toward life.

How to use the worksheet?

Daily, spend some time on the worksheet to document how you used your words, whether you took things personally, made assumptions, and did your best.

Do not lie to yourself, include both the good and the bad experiences for genuine self-development. For each section try to write specific examples to realize your patterns and triggers.

Make a plan on what could be done better and where to focus to improve for the next day. It is advisable to fill out the worksheet daily to foster the habit of self-reflection and personal development.
