What is the theory behind the worksheet?

The notion of broad socio-personal aspirations draws from positive psychology which enshrines individual and group fulfillment. Wide objectives are more societal oriented in terms of how an individual wants to positively impact the society.

The rationale for this worksheet is underpinned by the notion that goal setting and striving towards these goals might improve the wellbeing and life satisfaction of the individual given that they foster social relatedness and personal success.

How will the worksheet help?

This worksheet will help outline your social goals and provide steps to help you meet them.

This can help you define the detailed goal of what you want to achieve in your social life or interactions with peers in the community as it allows for reduction of broad social objectives into more detailed and doable goals.

These results can often include enhanced communication and interpersonal skills, better relationships, and greater feelings of connection to others in one’s society. Furthermore, these goals may help you to establish the plan of self-development, which is heading in the right direction in accordance with one’s values and vision of the future.

How to use the worksheet?

To use the worksheet, first, you should think about the values which are important to you and then what kind of relationships and what kind of community involvement may be important to you.

Secondly, have general social objectives that correspond with those values, like, wanting better relations with the family, volunteering, or increased social interactions.

To enhance the understanding, each general objective should be divided into related tasks that are easy to accomplish, for example, if the overall goal is to boost family relationships, the simple tasks include setting up a regular family dinner.

Build an account plan with activities and deadlines to ensure a regularly growing structure and constant progress. It is recommended to always look at your goals and the activities that you are carrying out and when necessary change the course of action you have in place.
