What is the theory behind this worksheet?

There is no theory used as a basis for this worksheet. Literature has shown that clinical interview is considered the foundation of all mental health interventions and one of the most important skills a mental health professional should possess. 

How will this worksheet help?

The counselor can use this worksheet to assess his/her skills in dealing with situations that are ideal for conducting clinical interviews for abused/neglected children. He/she may also come up with an action plan if the counselor thinks there are areas that need improvement.  

How to use the worksheet? 

This worksheet allows the counselor to measure his/her skills relative to the provided situations. If after assessment, the response is “No” or it means that the counselor lacks the skills to perform the required task, he/she may come up with an action plan to address it.
