Change is an inevitable part of life. This does not mean that dealing with change is an easy transition. However, finding ways to accept and cope with change can lower our risk for any mental illness. 

Resilience is coping with change by successfully adapting to complex or challenging life experiences through mental, emotional, and behavioral adjustments.

Our mental health is essential when coping with change. It plays a significant role in our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. Our mental health determines how we think, feel, and act.

What Are The Theories Behind This Worksheet?

  1. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a type of psychotherapy that helps a patient quickly identify their destructive thoughts and manage their problems. 

  1. Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) 

This is a type of talking therapy adapted to treat individuals who suffer from highly intense emotions. DBT is used to help struggling individuals identify and positively change their negative thinking patterns.

  1. Operant Conditioning

This theory aims to change a patient’s behavior by changing their routine and the reward. Therefore, it is often referred to as the cue-routine-reward pattern.

  1. Exposure Therapy

This therapy aims to increase a patient’s exposure to fear in a safe space. It is a helpful treatment for phobias, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, OCD, and PTSD.
