What Are The Theories Behind This Worksheet?

The worksheet is grounded in two fundamental theories: the Stages of Change Model and Motivational Interviewing. The Stages of Change Model, also known as the Transtheoretical Model, was developed by Prochaska and DiClemente in the 1980s. It outlines five stages – precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, and maintenance – through which individuals move as they change behavior. Motivational Interviewing, developed by Miller and Rollnick, is a counseling approach that supports change by helping individuals resolve ambivalence and enhance intrinsic motivation.
