What is the theory behind the Activity Scheduling for Depression Worksheet?
Activity Scheduling is a helpful tool used in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to increase pleasurable activity levels for clients with depression. The purpose is to help them gradually get back to the activities that were once a source of enjoyment before the depression took over and isolated them from everything. This will ensure they become more active and alo enjoy the positive effects of those activities.
How will the worksheet help?
This worksheet will help clients with depression to track their activities for at least two weeks and note down how they made them feel. This is a step prior to actual activity scheduling since it will ensure only those activities that really brought about a positive mood are added in the schedule.
How to use the worksheet?
Instruct the client to keep track of all the activities that they engage in within a period of two weeks. They have to note down the activity, any relevant details connected to it and how it made them feel. The worksheet has two separate columns one each for activities that made them feel good and activities that prompted negative emotions.
