What is the theory behind this anxiety worksheet for kids?

Anxiety can cause a variety of emotions such as nervousness, anger, fear, and hopelessness. It can cause negative thoughts and significantly impacts a child’s mood and daily functioning. Anxiety can prevent kids from reaching their full potential, forming new relationships, or experiencing new things. Children need to manage their anxious thoughts and develop healthy coping mechanisms.

How will the worksheet help?

This worksheet can be used to help anxious clients  in putting their worries aside. It also helps in identifying and recognising the anxiety signs in their own body. They can use their coping skills to alleviate their anxiety symptoms and reduce the anxiety of future stressors.

How to use the worksheet?  

During the session, the therapist instructs the kids to use this worksheet to identify their warning signs. Parents can also use this worksheet with kids to help them to figure out their anxiety triggers.
