What is the theory behind this CBT Worksheet for Social Anxiety?

Social anxiety is an intense fear of social situations that prevents an individual from engaging in healthy interactions with others, severely affecting their social life. Cognitive Behaviour therapy helps individuals struggling with social anxiety to identify and modify the unhelpful thinking patterns and core beliefs that are contributing to their fear of social situations.

How will the worksheet help?

This worksheet will help clients list down their fears regarding social situations. This worksheet will help the therapist gather important information about what the client fears and what actually goes on in their minds before, during and after being exposed to their feared social situations.

How to use the worksheet?

This worksheet is to be used in the initial sessions of CBT for Social Anxiety. Instruct the client to list down the specific fears that they have in mind before, during or after being exposed to their feared social situations. Tell them to write specifically about what kind of thoughts they have about things that could go wrong.
