What is the theory behind this Emotion Myths Worksheet?
We develop false beliefs about how emotion should be felt and expressed based on overt and covert messages that the society around us passes on. These are called emotion myths and they significantly impact the way we process, feel, and regulate our emotions. Among other things, identifying and debunking these emotional myths is a part of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
