What is the theory behind the worksheet?

Autism Spectrum Disorder may involve difficulties in understanding social norms such as gratitude. You can help yourself or your child by following a four-step process to increase your gratefulness or appreciation for things around you. Gratitude is one way to increase positive social skills.

As you integrate this process into your daily life, you can instill a habitual feeling of gratitude which lifts your general mood and improves the quality of life.

How will the worksheet help?

This worksheet offers you an outline of the four-step process of becoming more aware of gratitude. You can follow this step on your own or with your child frequently to help develop these behaviors and integrate them into a routine.

How to use the worksheet?

Using the guideline to help direct you, choose something to be grateful for once a week and complete the template. Keep a record of the things you write down so that you can track all that you have to be grateful for.

This can motivate you to keep up the practice and feel positive about your life and situation.
