What is the theory behind the High Functioning Autism Worksheet?

High Functioning Autism lies on the less severe side of the Autism Disorder spectrum. Autism itself is a neurodevelopmental disorder which is diagnosed in childhood. It is characterised by deficits in an individual’s ability to interact with others, initiate and maintain appropriate communication and display certain aspects of behavioural rigidity. It is important to help them work on their social skills since it can largely determine the quality of their social interactions and the subsequent relationships they form. 

How will the worksheet help? 

This worksheet will help children with high functioning autism to learn about a key social skill that can help them manage their symptoms and adapt easily with their peers. In this worksheet they will learn about how and when to use the words ‘thankyou’ to appreciate others.
