Mental health is a broad term that consists of cognitive, behavioural, and emotional health. It all comes down to how individuals feel, act, and think. It is important at every stage of life. Mental health is as important as physical health for the well-being of the person. According to research poor mental health affects physical health which leads to conditions like heart disease, strokes, and diabetes. Likewise, mental health is affected by poor physical health leading to mental illness. Mental health can be affected by many factors. Like a traumatic event, any major changes in life, or when the demands exceed and the person’s resources and coping mechanisms are strained.
