Individuals who face stressful situations and experience emotional distress often try to block distressing emotions to get rid of pain and physical symptoms. However, inhibition of such emotions creates a negative impact on our behavior and creates distress in the long run. People hold grudges when they are unable to process emotions adequately on time.
