What is the theory behind this Narrative therapy worksheet -Resolving conflicts?
Narrative therapy to mediate conflict between two parties uses a different approach than other therapeutic methods. The focus of this method is to bring forward valued stories from both parties and find ways for agreement. Approaches like counterstory or discursive story telling are used to get the narrative of both sides.
How will the worksheet help?
Through this worksheet the therapist, instead of focusing on the problem, draws attention to the other parts of the story told by discussing them and making the conflicting parties realize what each other’s point of views mean to them.
How to use this worksheet?
This worksheet will be given to both conflicting parties. The clients are required to write the cause of the conflict and the reason why they are standing for what they are standing for. What important values are associated with it that they want the other person to know. Space given below.
