What is the theory behind this Pre K Autism worksheet?

Autism Spectrum disorder is a neurodevelopmental disorder. Communication and social interaction deficits are hallmarks of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The DSM-5 categorises the symptoms of ASD into two groups: communication and social interaction issues, and restricted or repetitive behaviour patterns or activities. Children with autism often experience difficulties in their fine motor skills and cognitive development. Behaviour therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, play therapy and ABA are used to manage symptoms of Autism.

How will the worksheet help?

The development of cognitive ability will be best sparked by the development of good motor skills. According to a study, finger painting has the potential to be a substitute for helping children with autism develop their cognitive and motor skills.  motor and cognitive components are activated  in the process of remembering the colour combination, which is related to the finger’s fine muscles. This worksheet is designed for the pre-k children to help them develop their motor cognitive skills.

How to use the worksheet?

The worksheet can be used by a therapist or parents. Make sure to arrange the finger paint for this activity. Encouragement and support will yield positive results.
