What is the theory behind the Shame-Attacking exercise worksheet pdf?

Alber Ellis, who was the founder of Rational Emotive Behavior therapy proposed the term “Shame-Attacking exercises”. Shame is also like a fear, irrational and dysfunctional shame can only be eradicated by gradual exposure to shameful and embarrassing feelings, and sensations.
