What is the theory behind this Stomp out the ANTs Worksheet?

Automatic Negative Thoughts or ANTs are recurrent errors in our thinking that make us view situations in a negative light even when in reality that may not be the case. It is important to be aware of these automatic negative thoughts so that one can identify if they are being influenced by one. These thoughts are known to cause depression, anxiety and low self-esteem.

How will the worksheet help?

This worksheet can help young kids learn about Automatic Negative Thoughts using the acronym ANTS. It is meant to help them remember how these thoughts can be like ants crawling all over their mind and how they need to get rid of them as soon as possible. This worksheet can be used to reinforce their learning about ANT.

This worksheet can be used in individual or group counselling settings with young kids to reinforce their learning about some common Automatic Negative Thoughts that they have learned about.
