What is the theory behind this supportive therapy worksheet?

Supportive therapy is a type of psychotherapy that relies on the client-therapist relationship to reduce symptoms, boost self-esteem, reestablish a connection to reality, control irrational thoughts and impulses, and strengthen coping mechanisms for stressors and obstacles in daily life. Supportive therapy is useful in addressing a range of emotional difficulties and mental health issues.
