The self image therapy worksheet

What is the theory behind this self-image worksheet?

The theory behind a self-image worksheet is that clients with poor self-image are more likely to develop mental health-related issues. By working on self-image, clients can develop healthy self-esteem and radiate confidence. A positive self-image is theorized to have a positive impact on mental health and acts as a protective factor against mental health disorders.

How will the worksheet help?

This worksheet can help clients in dealing with their distorted perception of themselves. This worksheet can be particularly useful for individuals who are struggling with low self-esteem or who have negative thoughts or beliefs about themselves. It will help them in seeing themselves in a positive light.

How to use the worksheet?

In this worksheet first of all the client is asked to imagine that he is standing in front of the mirror. Then what thoughts come to his mind when he sees himself in the mirror? The self-image is explored by introspecting the positive and negative views about oneself. Then three positive and three negative perceptions about oneself are explored.
