What is the theory behind this Therapy Journal Worksheet?
Journaling helps individuals express and make sense of their thoughts and feelings.regarding various experiences of their lives. Writing down thoughts and feelings allows our innermost struggles to come through and gives us a chance to reflect on it. It also helps us notice patterns and changes in our thinking and emotions which can further help to narrow down triggers within or around us.
How will the worksheet help?
This worksheet uses a journaling technique to monitor one’s feelings on a daily basis. This is particularly helpful for people with mood disorders to detect an oncoming episode. It is also helpful for anyone seeking the right time to deploy effective coping strategies against uncomfortable or painful feelings before they get out of control.
How to use the worksheet?
Instruct the client to notice how they feel at least three times in the day. If they notice any significant changes in their mood they can also elaborate on what they think might be a cause of it based on what was happening around them at the time.
