What is the theory behind this Boundaries circle worksheet?

There are several levels of closeness, that are called closeness circles. The personal boundaries circle worksheet consists of 4 inner circles of closeness to others: 1) family, 2) friends, 3) acquaintances, and 4) strangers. Very few people can fit into the first circle of closeness. Other very dear people belong to the second circle of closeness. The third circle, the one farthest from us, is filled with acquaintances, people we know, but are not close to them. It is good that we have people in each of these circles of closeness.

The idea behind boundary setting is that one’s personal space must be protected. There must be some rules, guidelines as well as limitations to how much this space can be invaded. Children and adults all should be aware of these basic boundary rules, so that they will be aware when it is violated.

How will the worksheet help?

This worksheet will help with personal boundary setting.  The clients will get awareness regarding the guidelines of personal boundaries. They will be able to identify people from their own life and decide how much personal space each person is allowed to take.
