Chemical dependency group therapy worksheet

What is the theory behind this Chemical dependency group therapy worksheet?

Group therapy for substance use disorders is an effective way to treat this issue. Since humans are social beings, our views and motivation are inspired most of the time by the surroundings we spend time in. A substance use group can be beneficial because it allows the individual struggling with addiction to open up in front of people going through the same kinds of problems. Furthermore, the group members become each other’s support system with more empathy and deeper connection.

How will the worksheet help?

This worksheet will help the clients in guiding each other about addiction related problems. Because of the subjectivity into our own problems, we tend to get overwhelmed with it and become unable to deal with them. With the help of objective views, clients will be able to dentify their triggers and find possible solutions

How to use this worksheet?

Clients are required to write the events/time/places where they use the substance in detail. Then other members are asked to identify their triggers and help them find possible solutions to deal with those triggers. The client has to be open to all suggestions and the members are required to be respectful and empathetic. .
