Video & audio overview of the worksheet

What is the theory behind the worksheet?

Working from a solutions-focused theoretical framework, the miracle question can be used in many different circumstances. The miracle question aims to allow an individual to think of what the ideal situation for them would look like. From this point, they can analyze the differences between this image and reality. This is followed by an action plan to develop practical steps that can be implemented to move the individual closer to the ideal image.

As a couple this exercise takes trust and appreciation of each other.

How will the worksheet help?

This worksheet offers steps to help a couple use the miracle question to improve their relationship. The exercise is not meant to highlight all the things that a couple is displeased with, rather it aims to shift this focus from the problems to solutions – therefore – creating steps to achieve the miracle image is key to the process and the relationship.

How to use the worksheet?

Work together during the time you have dedicated to this exercise. Remember that this exercise is meant to find solutions, so working with an open mind and not one of blame will be important.

Follow the steps outlined in the worksheet, you may wish to make a written list of the steps you plan to take as a couple so that you can return to these steps at a later date and reflect on their progress.
