Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a severe mental illness in which people have recurring, unwanted thoughts, ideas, or sensations (obsessions).
Compulsions are repetitive behaviors and rituals one engages in to decrease the fear and anxiety of the obsessions.
OCD can be treated through OCD exposure therapy. This therapy exposes patients to confront their fears and anxieties through systematic techniques to break the pattern of fear and avoidance.

This behavioral therapy is designed to help patients manage problematic fears by exposing them to situations that cause distress.
- Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) Therapy
ERP is the process of gradually and repeatedly exposing patients to uncomfortable thoughts, images, situations, or feelings while keeping them from engaging in compulsive and avoidant behaviors they would turn to cope with.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a type of psychotherapy used to help individuals improve distorted thoughts and behavioral patterns associated with mental health conditions such as OCD.
