What is the theory behind this Holidays and mental health worksheet?

Holidays are believed to be a time of joy and family reunions. In reality, it is not always the case. For some people, holidays only bring the memories that are hurtful and distressing. Reuniting with a dysfunctional family can cause a significant amount of stress. As well as, distancing yourself from your family is also very difficult during the time of holidays. Because believing the popular notion of others spending joyful holidays with their families creates a feeling of loneliness and isolation.  

How will the worksheet help?     

The purpose of this worksheet is to help clients realize and reframe the meaning of holidays for those individuals who are unable to spend that time with their families for some reasons. Furthermore, it will gain them insight about what celebration means to them.  

How to use this worksheet?

This worksheet contains two guidelines to help yourself during the isolating time of holidays and make it a pleasurable experience for you.  You are required to follow the tips and practice them during your holiday season.
