Independent living skills refer to life skills that one needs in order to survive and thrive as an adult in the real world. They can refer to general life skills that all young adults must learn going into adulthood. It can also specifically refer to life skills that are taught to mentally or physically disabled individuals so that they can live as equal members of their society without being dependent on others.
