What is the theory behind this PTSD Triggers Worksheet?

PTSD is a mental disorder that is observed as the result of experiencing any trauma and people experience emotional and bodily symptoms upon experiencing any similar event of experiencing any similar detail of that event. These situations lead them towards reliving their trauma and are generally known as triggers. Clients need to identify their triggers to deal with this disorder. 

How will the worksheet help?

This worksheet will help to identify their triggers of reliving their trauma. It will create more awareness about their disorder and related problems. It will help clients have more control of themselves in triggering situations. They can be aware of each trigger and associated anxiety to have more insight into which situation is more alarming. They can work on coping skills to deal better.  

How to use the worksheet?

This worksheet is helpful for a client to identify their physical symptoms in triggering situations. Instruct clients to write minor cues that trigger their anxiety and later ask them to write how they cope with it. In last instruct them to write each triggering situation and identify the amount of anxiety associated with it and work on most anxiety-provoking situations first to ease distress.
