What is the theory behind this Self-care Action Plan Worksheet?

The concept of self-care encompasses all the aspects of one’s physical, psychological , spiritual and mental well-being that one should pay attention to and be mindful of. Self-care is very easy to neglect when not prioritised, especially when one is distressed, disturbed or simply too busy in taking care of other’s needs. Having an action plan in place can help one focus on prioritising self-care which is known to actually help improve mood and destress. 

How will the worksheet help?

This worksheet will provide an action plan template that clients can use to add and plan the self-care activities that they need. They can choose to focus on one or multiple self-care activities as long as they know they can commit to doing them consistently. 

How to use the worksheet?

This worksheet can be used by therapists and counsellors for clients who are stressed or depressed as a way of helping them cope with their disturbing thoughts and emotions.  Instruct clients to choose some self care activities, write down their benefits, when they can fit it in their schedule and how they can ensure consistency.
