Stuck Point Log Worksheet

What is the theory behind this Stuck Point Log Worksheet?

In Cognitive Processing Therapy, ‘stuck points’ are certain thoughts or beliefs that prevent an individual from recovering or from moving on from their traumatic experience. These stuck points can be identified through Socratic Dialogue during therapy sessions. These stuck points are then challenged throughout sessions to help individuals move on from their trauma.

How will the worksheet help?

This worksheet will allow clients to keep track of their stuck points as they are revealed throughout the therapy sessions. It is important for the client to be aware of these stuck points and they can use this log to keep track of which they have worked through and which still need to be worked on.

How to use this worksheet?

Instruct the client to place the stuck point log on the top of their therapy binder and keep adding stuck points to it as they are identified throughout the therapy process. They can keep revisiting it to label the ones they don’t believe in anymore to indicate they have worked on it.
