Taking Accountability In My Relationship Worksheet

Video & audio overview of the worksheet

What is the theory behind the worksheet?

Taking accountability within a relationship is a valuable skill to reflect upon as a couple. This is because accountability involves individual self-reflection and reflection as a couple. Exploring the expectations or goals that you have as a couple provides you with an opportunity to communicate with each other and express appreciation for the accountability taken and an opportunity to plan for future actions.

How will the worksheet help?

This worksheet offers you a way to reflect upon the expectations and goals you have set as a couple. You are able to reflect together and take personal accountability within the situation, reflect on the actions you have taken as a couple, and look forward to the next steps.

This allows you to incorporate regular check-ins to enhance your goals as a couple.

How to use the worksheet?

Choose a time to sit together without distractions and fill in the table. Think of the goals or expectations you want to address. Each partner is able to have their individual reflections, which is done honestly and without any defensiveness.

Next, you can reflect on the progress together and discuss how you both want to move forward. Remember to approach this activity with compassion and kindness. This is not a place to lay blame, rather it is an opportunity to take accountability and move forward together.
