The Pain of PTSD Worksheet

What is the theory behind this pain of PTSD worksheet?

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a condition in which a person feels overwhelmed, helpless, and trapped. It can develop as a result of several events, including sexual, emotional, or physical abuse, natural disaster, war, the death of a loved one, divorce, or any traumatic event. These symptoms cause the person to suffer physical and mental pain. It can be treated through cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) which can alleviate the PTSD pain symptoms  as well as reduce anxiety.

How will the worksheet help?

This worksheet will assist clients in coping with PTSD symptoms that have long caused  distress to them. This makes a person accept and confront their unpleasant life experiences; no one can alleviate this pain, but they can learn to accept rather than avoiding their feelings.

How to use the worksheet?

During the session, the therapist gives the client this worksheet. The therapist can help clients unpack their emotions and understand why their experience affected them the way it did.
