What is the theory behind the Thought record CBT worksheet?

Thought recording in CBT is an important element of this therapy because the sole purpose of this therapy is to identify and target negative thoughts and change them into healthy ones with the help of cognitive restructuring. But for that, thoughts must be identified and one should have insight about it.

Just simply read the items and try to relate with it, if you think that this is your negative thought, just mark “yes” if you find it unrelated, mark “no”. Share it with your therapist for feedback and work toward restructuring your thoughts.
