What is the theory behind this Letter of Forgiveness Worksheet?

Forgiveness Therapy allows individuals to lighten their emotional burdens by actively adopting a forgiving approach to all that has passed. It is meant to help individuals riddled with guilt, bitterness and other uncomfortable emotions due to a painful past to learn to let go of what they could not control. For them to heal in the present and prioritise their well-being and personal growth they must choose to forgive whoever caused them harm.
