Individuals with emotional problems often lack skills in their life because due to emotional distress, they overlook so many aspects of life and lacks basic life skills patients with depression, anxiety, OCD, psychosis, etc requires working on management if their life skills to make them more functional and to deal with the preoccupation of their symptoms we must train them in different areas living skills and help them become more functional and more active.

It will also help them assess how functional they are and in what areas they require to improve themselves. Instruct clients to read the broader categories of life skills. Then ask them to brainstorm related activities of each category in daily living. Here the therapist can help clients if they are stuck in any area but the client will lead on a broader level. In last ask them which activities they do when they were more functional and which activities they do now.
