My Emotional Cup Worksheet

What is the theory behind My Emotional Cup Worksheet?

My emotional cup worksheet is based on the principle that everyone has an emotional cup and it needs to be filled with positive elements such as love, security, and belongingness, however when these needs are not met their cup gets empty and results in behavior such as arguments, aggression, and misbehavior.

How will this worksheet help you?

This worksheet may help your child or an adult in writing down positive and negative aspects of their own lives and how these aspects fill and empty their emotional cup. They will be more aware of their needs and the things that they should avoid such as criticism, stress, negativity, etc. In this way, they will not only avoid negativity but also foster healthy self-worth.

How to use this worksheet?

This worksheet can be used by children as well as adults. Start by writing things that you think empty your cup (which means it makes you exhausted, overwhelmed, distressed, and tired). Then identify the things that fill your emotional cup (affection, care, attention, etc). You may also write activities and things that make you happy so you can increase the frequency of those things in your routine.
