What is the theory behind the Self-Care Ideas Worksheet?

Self-care is a crucial aspect of maintaining overall well-being. It includes all that you do focus on and enhance your physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual and social wellbeing. Self-care is one of the first things to be neglected in face of adversities. This needs to change as it can help individuals become more resilient to life’s challenges and eventually cope better.   

How will the worksheet help? 

This worksheet will provide ideas about self activities to clients who are struggling to manage self-care as a result of the symptoms associated with their mental illness diagnosis. It can help them learn about activities that can help them cope better in day to day life despite their condition and hopefully improve their well-being in the process. 

How to use the worksheet? 

This worksheet can be used by therapists and counsellors as part of teaching coping strategies to clients struggling with their mental illness diagnosis. Clients can go through the self-care ideas as provided in the worksheet and circle the ones they are willing to try and make a habit of.
