Sibling Therapy Worksheet

What is the theory behind this SiblingTherapy Worksheet?

In family therapy it is very important to not just focus on the parent-child relationship but also sibling relationships. Siblings are one of the important early relationships that can determine how well one develops social-emotional and interpersonal interaction skills as a child.

How will the worksheet help?

This worksheet will help siblings seeking family therapy to express what they think are good and bad qualities in a sibling. Discussing their responses in sessions can help family members gain new insights into what is expected of them and how they can modify their behaviour to foster healthy relationships.

How to use the worksheet?

Instruct the siblings to write down what they think a good sibling should be like and what they think a sibling should not be like. Then tell them to highlight their expectations from their siblings. Then tell them to do a self-analysis of their own behaviours as a sibling to others.
