Anger House Worksheet

What is the theory behind this Anger House Worksheet?

The ‘Anger House’ strategy is one of the many anger management techniques that are used in therapy to help individuals visualise their anger responses, triggers, and coping strategies using the illustration of a house. Anger management strategies are aimed at helping individuals become more aware of their anger triggers and warning signs so they can deploy effective coping strategies at the right time.

How will the worksheet help?

This worksheet will help individuals visualise the different aspects of their anger responses and what they can do to cope with them or manage them. It will help them become more mindful of what their anger looks like and what strategies they can utilise to ‘cool down’ in the future. It will also help them summarise all that they have learned about triggers, reactions, consequences, and practical coping strategies regarding their anger.

How to use the worksheet?

This worksheet can be used in anger management skills training or therapy focused on helping individuals with anger-related behavioural issues. Instruct the individuals to use the worksheet as directed to summarise all that they have learned to date about their anger responses and effective coping strategies.
